MapAscend was formed out of the Research and Development Division of Bruce Harris & Associates, Inc. Founded in 1995, Bruce Harris & Associates, Inc. specializes in providing comprehensive mapping services to government agencies and the private sector. The services provided by Bruce Harris & Associates, Inc. include GIS cadastral data development, geodatabase design, election district mapping, soil mapping and calculations, Internet mapping solutions, parcel map maintenance, etc.

At MapAscend we understand the need for finding tools to increase productivity. As a data developer with years of real world mapping experience, our Research and Development staff continually improve upon techniques and developed software tools to increase productivity. In fact, the MapAscend suite of extensions for ArcGIS® Desktop was first developed to increase our internal day-to-day workflow and productivity. We realized the tools we developed were so helpful, we wanted to make them available to all ArcGIS® users.
