The Feature Distributor tool was created to:
- Streamline copying and pasting of features between
feature classes with differing table schemas by means
of calculation expressions.
- Support cross geometry compatibility.
- Run in geoprocessing models for powerful reusability.
Any feature layers (geodatabase, shapefile, coverage,
CAD) can be used as source layers while any editable
feature layers (geodatabase, shapefile) can be used
as destination layers. The destination fields can be
calculated with new values or expression values based
on source layer values. The Feature Distributor also
supports cross geometry compatibility, such as polygon
to point conversion, or even annotation to baseline.
